Managing Board of Association of Serbian Banks... More info
Until the ownership structure in spas across Serbia is not cleared up properly, privatization of these medical resorts is at a standstill. At leas for now. State would very much like to find strategic partners who would be ready to invest into spas in our country, but the question is what will become of all that given that Serbia is waiting for the new government, but also a possible law suit by the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO) which does not want, among other things, for its property to be sold off without their approval. PIO Fund claims that the property which they have in spas is clearly separated from public property by the Law on public property. Management Board of the Fund recently decided to initiate a law suit against the state because it is trying to sell property without their approval, and according to their claims, billions of euros have been invested in that property, while in spas alone at least 500 million euros have been invested.
