There are many problems in the energy sector that need to be solved; only then can we talk about prices, especially those of gas and electricity, said yesterday the Minister of Energy, Development and Environment, Zorana Mihajlović. She said that the upcoming heating season will not be easy, that there are many problems in the energy sector that need to be solved, and only then can we talk about prices, especially of gas and electricity. "Many things have to be done, especially in the energy sector, to make it more efficient. The way of managing the Electric Power Industry of Serbia has to change. There are many problems, especially financial and economic ones, in that institution," the Minister said. She announced a change in the tariff system, or the billing and collection of utility bills. "Having in mind that a big percentage of the budget of the people of Serbia is spent on utility bills, we have to deal with the billing system. That applies both to the economy and the households," the Minister said and added that social cards will be created urgently. "No one in the Government is saying anything about increasing the prices of electricity, or any other energy source. So the story about the increase of prices is completely false. After all, the Prime Minister said something similar," she said. Speaking of the prices of gas, she said that they were increased by a lot several years ago, and that no further increase is planned by the end of the year.
